A national home care service provider is looking for a part-time Personal Assistant (Support Worker) in the United Kingdom. The role involves assisting a client with daily tasks, including cooking and social activities. Candidates should have experience in mental health and be reliable, compassionate, and comfortable around dogs. This position offers training and development opportunities, with a commitment to person-centered care.
HomeCareDirect is a national service provider and a leader in personalised home care. We are committed to delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care, while supporting our staff with top-quality training, supervision and development opportunities.
Our PA’s join our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. This role is part-time, 20 hours per week on a Thursday and Friday.
Our client is a quiet gentleman who likes to stay at home. His interests include Manchester United, gaming, reading and crime programmes. We are looking to recruit a PA who can motivate him to do his daily chores and who will assist him around his home with general housework and cooking. You will also accompany our client out in the community with social activities and to appointments.
There is no personal care involved in this role, however you will be required to assist with personal care when needed during/after a seizure.
The role and client can be challenging, so having a good understanding of mental health is important to provide proper support for his well‑being. While driving is not required, you should be comfortable around dogs, as the family has an energetic and affectionate cockapoo. Knowledge of autism would also be an advantage.
Our organisation is committed to safe and fair recruitment, safeguarding and protecting those we care for and serve. We make sure all our staff are vetted, selected, trained and supervised fairly and to a high standard so that they can provide safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Please ensure you have the right to work in the UK before applying for this vacancy.
