A leading support organization is seeking Support Workers in Bedlington. Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our team in Bedlington.
As a Support Worker, you will make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will work with a diverse group of people, each with unique abilities and needs, assisting with daily activities and providing emotional support.
This part‑time position (17 hrs per week) involves supporting a gentleman in his 50s who lives in his own bungalow in Bedlington. During the day he attends a work placement from 9 am to 3:30 pm; we support him after this from 3:30 pm. He enjoys gardening and has a woodwork shop in his garage. He is generally able and completes most tasks with a verbal prompt, including household chores, medication and personal care.
The shift pattern includes a sleep‑in and ends at 9 am the following morning. Further information about the person being supported will be discussed during the interview.
This role requires you to be a driver.
All our services are 24‑hr care. We prepare the rota at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life.
All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
