A community support organization is seeking a male self-employed Personal Assistant/Support Worker in Bognor Regis to provide companionship and assistance to a man with an acquired brain injury. The ideal candidate should have good interpersonal skills, be reliable, and possess experience in de-escalation techniques. I am looking for a male self-employed Personal Assistant/Support worker who is happy to spend time with me getting out and about and will help me develop my independence to one day live in my own home.
I am looking for a positive, friendly and curious minded person; another human being with whom I will be able to build a connection and with. I have an acquired brain injury (ABI) and you will need to be skilled in identifying times of stress and anxiety, helping me to regulate and manage my thoughts and impulses. Experience in de-escalation techniques will be useful.
I would like a PA who doesn’t mind meeting out and about (local cafes) and going out for short walks. Someone who is a good listener, has a good intellect (doesn’t mind talking about science) and has good intuition would be perfect for this role.
Training and/or experience in understanding mental health will be required, but you will be provided with ongoing support with other professionals working with me.
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
