Job description
Overview

Euan is a kind and gentle young man with physical and learning disabilities who enjoys getting out and about in his community and living as independently as possible. He’s looking for a caring and dependable Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker to help him with day-to-day living and to support him in enjoying his hobbies and social activities.

As Euan’s Personal Assistant, you’ll provide one-to-one support both at home and when out in the community. A typical day might involve helping with personal care such as shaving or dressing, preparing and cooking healthy meals, or supporting Euan to attend social activities like cinema trips, swimming, or going out for a meal. You’ll also help with practical tasks such as shopping, collecting prescriptions, and light household duties.

Euan benefits from structure and consistency, so a calm, patient approach is essential. He can be shy and quiet at first, but once he gets to know you, he’s engaging, friendly, and enjoys good company.

You’ll need to have a full driving licence and use your own vehicle (a mileage allowance will be paid). Cooking skills are required, and you must be a non-smoker due to sensory needs.

Experience is preferred but not essential, as full guidance and support will be provided. The most important qualities are warmth, compassion, and reliability, along with good communication skills and an understanding of supporting someone with additional needs to live independently.

If you’re a caring, positive person who enjoys helping others reach their potential and live life to the fullest, we’d love to hear from you.
