A support services provider in Scotland is seeking a Child Support Worker to assist a young non-verbal child with Autism and Learning Disabilities. The role involves providing personalized care, support for social activities, and encouraging independent living skills. Ideal candidates should be patient, energetic, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Casual hours range between 4 to 9 hours per week, offering flexibility in scheduling.
Male or Female Child Support Worker required to assist a young nonverbal child with Autism, Pica and Learning Disabilities living in the Cambuslang area.
You would be required to provide one-to-one care and assistance within their home and out in the community, including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with the following tasks:
Driver essential – access to a mobility vehicle or mileage allowance paid.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage the individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Must be confident and patient dealing with children that present with challenging behaviour at times.
Experience is desirable; however it is more important that the candidate has a warm and friendly nature, is energetic, patient and has a true desire to work within a caring role and build a lovely supportive relationship with the individual.
Good interpersonal skills and communication skills are essential as the individual is non‑verbal so interpreting and understanding their needs is crucial.
Must be flexible and reliable.
Casual contract between 4 – 9 hours per week (there is flexibility on how many hours are worked and when over the month).
Occasional weekday evenings, weekends and school holidays.
£12.60 per hour.
