You will join our amazing Community Service team in Llanelli.

This is a casual role working as and when required to cover for another support worker when they are away - they currently provide support on a Thursday for 5 hours.

We are offering an hourly rate from £12.50 with enhanced rates for overtime and annual pay reviews/rises.

The person you will support has a farming background and is now visually impaired. This is not a regular role, the successful candidate will join the team to provide consistent support for the client when the current worker is unable to.

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and a kind, respectful approach to supporting individuals in their home environment. They will be keen to support with a variety of community tasks. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who values making a positive impact to someone's life.

For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a male candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent support to a client who is visually impaired, covering for the regular support worker on Thursdays.
  • Assist with community tasks such as cooking, cleaning, finances, appointments and maintaining the client's social life.
  • Deliver a customised, responsive and high-quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities.
  • Attend training as needed and support the client within their home and the community.
Qualifications
  • A full UK driving licence with use of your own vehicle and business insurance.
  • Knowledge of BSL Level 1 or BSL first language.
  • Knowledge of multi-sensory impairments / learning difficulties is beneficial.
  • Willingness to attend training and support the client in the role.
  • Experience or interest in caring for disabled individuals.
