Job summary

King’s College London is seeking a Technical Specialist with extensive MALDI mass spectrometry imaging experience to join our collaborative Mass Spectrometry Imaging team at Guy’s Campus. You will optimise tissue sectioning, develop matrix protocols and acquisition methods for high-resolution spatial analyses across tissues and cells.

Reporting to the Senior Mass Spectrometrist, you will perform data analysis and annotation for academic and commercial projects, contribute to method development,

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry, life sciences or related field, or equivalent research experience.
• Hands-on MALDI MS imaging, method development and matrix delivery.
• Experience in data acquisition and analysis of spatial metabolites and lipids using MALDI.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects to deadlines.
• Experience with QA/QC standards in a laboratory or research setting.
• Experience providing technical advice or training in MALDI imaging techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of MALDI mass spectrometry tissue imaging projects.
• Develop tissue sectioning protocols and matrix delivery methods.
• Acquire and analyze spatially resolved metabolites and lipids.
• Annotate data across diverse sample types and deliver high-quality outputs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for academic and commercial projects.
