Makaton & PECS Trained Educators – Full-Time Role

Location:Various Primary Schools
Hours:8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Term Time)
Start Date:Immediate

Are you passionate about supporting children with communication needs and helping them thrive in education? We are seekingexperienced educators trained in Makaton and/or PECSto work with pupils who require additional support with speech, language, and communication.

What we’re looking for:

• Makaton and/or PECS Training:Ability to implement communication strategies effectively.
• Safeguarding Knowledge:Active awareness and proactive implementation of safeguarding practices.
• Experience & Qualifications:Previous experience in education or relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, SEN training).
• Availability:Full-time, during standard school hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM).
• Commitment:A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting vulnerable learners.

Your role will include:

• Delivering 1:1 and small group support using Makaton and/or PECS.
• Assisting pupils with communication challenges to engage in learning.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and speech and language teams.
• Maintaining accurate records and monitoring progress.
• Proactively safeguarding all pupils and promoting a safe, inclusive school culture.
