Overview

Maintenance & Yard Operative

Location: Rugby, Central Park

Pay Rate: £13.27 per hour

Contract Type: Temp - Perm (12 week probationary period)

Hours: 10am till 20:00 Monday - Friday

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance & Yard Operative to join our on-site facilities team. You’ll be responsible for supporting site maintenance, yard operations, and safety routines, ensuring our site remains clean, safe, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out general yard duties including litter picking, gritting, and routine maintenance.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly Health & Safety checks and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform racking inspections and assist with rectification work.
  • Support maintenance of on-site utilities including BMS/HVAC systems, meter readings, and general upkeep.
  • Assist with fire prevention, firefighting, first aid, and other emergency systems.
  • Support MHE (Material Handling Equipment) compliance including LOLER/PUWER checks, maintenance callouts, and associated admin.
  • Conduct scheduled MHE and AGV maintenance tasks such as battery water checks.
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and cleaning of CCTV equipment.
  • Manage waste collections and compactor maintenance.
  • Support external contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with all LTC procedures.
  • Liaise with the Facilities Management team to plan and execute essential maintenance tasks.
  • Raise purchase requisitions for orders and contracts as required.
