Job summary

Venture Global LNG is seeking a Maintenance Technician, Mechanical to support the Liquefaction, Storage and Loading facilities. The role focuses on safe, efficient preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in LNG/oil & gas maintenance, strong knowledge of API/ASME standards, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of maintenance mechanical technician experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, or petrochemical facilities.
• Knowledge of mechanical industrial standards and codes (API, ASME; NBIC).
• Experience maintaining mechanical static and rotating equipment.
• Experience with loading arms, cryogenic pumps, compressors and exchangers.
• Familiar with CMMS/work order processes; SAP experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED; technical mechanical degree or NCCER certification.

• Adheres to LNG Maintenance Manual and Work Management procedures.

Summary

The Maintenance Technician, Mechanical reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, Mechanical and leads the safe, efficient and effective execution of all mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance work at Venture Global’s facility, specifically, at the Liquefaction, Storage and Loading facilities. The Maintenance Mechanical Technician (Process) is responsible for working with other Technicians, and Supervisors within the Operations & Maintenance departments.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

• Executes preventive and corrective maintenance mechanical work according to LNG HSSE process, procedures, standards and regulations.
• Adherence to VGIMS (Venture Global Integrity Management System), LNG Maintenance Manual and Work Management process and procedures.
• Identify potential safety, health, environmental work hazards. Understand maintenance work scope and applicable Operation and Maintenance processes and procedures.
• Performs problem solving activities in order to ensure maintenance and reliability issues corrective measures are implemented. Functions as Maintenance SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Mechanical systems.
• Prepare and create required Job Safety Hazard Analysis and Work permits under his/her area of responsibility (ePTW as applicable). Ensure permits are prepared and submitted to Operations well in advance before execution.
• Works with maintenance and engineering counterparts to ensure the safe completion of scheduled maintenance work.
• Responsible for daily work progress reports and updates, adhering to maintenance work execution processes and procedures, among other activities.
• Manage personal time card according to LNG Policies and Procedures (vacation, time-off, sick leave, training, “on-call” etc.)
• Supervises contractor work execution, safe work completion, and performance according to LNG Contractor Management procedure. Reports contractor work quality/non-compliances issues to direct Supervisor and Planning/Contract teams.
• Identify and request required special and routine tools/equipment/PPE for the safe execution of maintenance activities under his/her area of responsibility.
• Participate in LNG Ready for Operations (RFO) maintenance projects in order to develop required maintenance systems, process and procedures before commercial operations.
• Supports Mechanical equipment factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) as required.
• Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup and operation of the LNG Facility. This will include being a vital member of the integrated commissioning / start-up team(s) with the EPC contractor.
• Participate in various reviews during the Engineering and Design Phases, such as HAZOPs, 3D model and P&ID reviews.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• Minimum Five (5) years of maintenance mechanical technician work experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, or petrochemical facilities.
• Knowledge of mechanical industrial standards, code regulations (i.e., API, ASME – Process, NBIC pressure devices relief testing among others).
• Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical static and rotating equipment.
• Applied knowledge of maintenance and inspection of mechanical equipment such as - but not limited to, Loading arms, Gangways, Berth systems, cryogenic pumps and systems (Cold Box, Refrigerant Storage, etc.), reciprocated, screw and centrifugal compressors, Diesel engines, Air Cooled Heat Exchangers, Flare systems, Catalysts loading/unloading, etc.
• Experience working scaffolding, painting, insulating, heavy equipment operation-rigging/lifting crafts, welding, fabrication, machining, etc.
• Experience supporting small/medium scale mechanical projects.

Preferred Experience

• Familiar with CMMS systems work management process (Work order process). SAP experience is preferred.

Required Education

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; Technical degree in Mechanical, or applicable nationally recognized standard Certification. (i.e. NCCER)

• Must be able to respond to an emergency at the station within 60 minutes

Licensing & Certifications

• Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing.
