Salary: £39,676 per annum plus Veolia benefits
Contract length: 12 months
Hours: 37 hours per week, Mon - Fri 7.30am to 4pm, 12.30pm Friday finish

Responsibilities
- Planned & Reactive Maintenance: Execute electrical and mechanical tasks to maintain plant availability, including inspections, servicing, and corrective works across instrumentation, motors, drives, valves, and rotating equipment.
- Fault Diagnosis & Rectification: Systematically investigate and resolve faults using root cause analysis, schematic interpretation, and condition-based monitoring to restore functionality and prevent recurrence.
- Asset Refurbishment & Lifecycle Support: Replace, refurbish, and upgrade components to extend asset life, improve performance, and align with capital planning and investment justification frameworks.
- Operational Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, integrating with operations, process, and compliance personnel to ensure seamless plant functionality and shared ownership of outcomes.
- Partner Coordination: Liaise with contract partners and suppliers to deliver timely, cost-effective solutions that meet technical specifications, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
- Performance Feedback & Technical Insight: Provide actionable feedback to senior maintenance and operations teams to inform capital interventions, asset strategies, and compliance reporting.
- Preventative Tasking & Continuous Improvement: Deliver preventative maintenance aligned with asset criticality, failure modes, and operational risk, while identifying opportunities for process optimisation and energy efficiency.
- Data Integrity & CMMS Reporting: Accurately record maintenance activities, fault histories, and asset condition data into the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support audit readiness, trend analysis, and regulatory reporting.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of site safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance, contributing to a culture of zero harm and continuous vigilance.
- Participate in a 24/7 standby rota to ensure rapid response capability and continuity of service across critical infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in planned and reactive maintenance within industrial/manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, motors, drives, valves, and rotating equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings
- Experience with fault diagnosis techniques including root cause analysis (RCA) and condition-based monitoring
- Understanding of asset lifecycle management, refurbishment, and upgrade processes
