Maintenance Technician – Southend‑On‑Sea

Location: Southend‑On‑Sea

Industry: Manufacturing

Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum - Monday to Friday!

Role: We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician (MT) to ensure the effective maintenance of company assets. The successful candidate will play a key role in keeping equipment running smoothly, ensuring all work is properly documented and supporting the company’s high standards in safety, quality and productivity.

Responsibilities
  • Perform weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance on company assets.
  • Record all completed maintenance in the company database.
  • Review and understand risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) before carrying out tasks.
  • Maintain and stock‑check consumables and spare parts for servicing and daily operations.
  • Attend training courses when required to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure contractors comply with local health and safety requirements while on‑site.
  • Work in line with company standards, policies and environmental, health & safety guidelines.
  • Carry out other reasonable and relevant tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above)
  • Industry‑recognised engineer‑based apprenticeship
Experience & Skills
  • Experience maintaining/servicing equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Contractor management experience (e.g., reviewing RAMs, issuing permits)
  • Ability to maintain and stock‑check spare parts and consumables
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including MS Office
  • Experience using Forklifts and MEWP equipment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
