Overview

Maintenance Technician — Sheffield

Up to £22.42/hr + 17% Shift Premium (3 Shifts, 37.5 hrs/week)

We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a leading manufacturing business in Sheffield. Working across 3 shifts, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of production machinery in a busy forging environment.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose faults, replace/repair parts, and make necessary adjustments to minimise downtime
  • Support equipment installations and basic facility repairs (electrical, water, air)
  • Use hand and power tools, meters, and lifting equipment safely and effectively
  • Work proactively to identify improvements and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
About You
  • Time-served/apprentice-trained Maintenance Technician (electrical or mechanical bias)
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment (forging experience ideal)
  • Fabrication experience is preferable.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and fault finding on control systems
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Adaptable, hands-on, and systematic in approach to problem solving
