Overview

Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician? Have you completed an accredited apprenticeship and are multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical functions? Then look no further! We're offering a 12 month fixed term assignment at Caterpillar's world class manufacturing plant in Skinningrove. This opportunity includes award-winning training, a safe friendly environment, and temporary assignments at our client's facility.

Job title: Maintenance Technician

Job Type: 12 month fixed term assignment

Hours of Work: rotating 2 days 2 nights, 4 on 4 off

Salary: Days £18.61 and Nights £24.75

Location: Skinningrove Works, Saltburn-by-the-Sea

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop facility availability and uptime using fault analysis through Pareto analysis and condition monitoring.
  • Fault find on electrical/electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
  • Work to a planned preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Liaise with manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure equipment availability.
  • Manage projects within the areas of responsibility.
  • Root cause machine failures and implement corrective actions in multiple disciplines.
  • Generate ideas to save money in terms of cost and velocity, with awareness of the area’s budget.

Qualifications
  • Required: NVQ Level 3 / Time served Apprentice background or equivalent qualification; preferably with the latest I.E.E. 17th/18th Edition. Copies of certificates may be requested.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Operating PLC, Electrical/Electronic & CNC systems; fault finding & diagnostics.
  • Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and PLC ladder listings.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Hydraulic and mechanical experience.
  • Experience with ABB robots.
  • Driving licence, recognised forklift licence, MEWP licence.
