Educational requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience in maintenance or manufacturing support preferred.
- Technical or vocational training in mechanics, electrical systems, or industrial maintenance is a plus.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Understanding safety standards in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment is preferred.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools, power tools, and computers.

Primary job responsibility
Support maintenance and repair activities on extrusion and manufacturing equipment under the direction of the Automation & Maintenance Lead Technician. Perform basic mechanical, electrical, and preventive maintenance tasks to keep production running safely and efficiently.
Essential functions of the position
- Equipment Support & Troubleshooting
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairing extrusion line components such as vacuum tanks, pullers, dryers, and cutters.
- Respond to calls for machine adjustments or repairs during active production.
- Replace worn or damaged parts, belts, filters, sensors, and other common components.
- Preventive Maintenance
- Perform scheduled lubrication, cleaning, and inspections of equipment.
- Document maintenance activities accurately and consistently.
- Help identify wear‑and‑tear items and report potential equipment concerns early.
- Shop & Tools
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and storage areas.
- Track and return tools and ensure equipment is cleaned after use.
- Help organize parts inventory and assist with sourcing components when needed.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Lead, Engineering, and Production teams to prioritize tasks.
- Follow written and verbal instructions for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members.
- Participate in training on equipment, safety protocols, and basic automation concepts.
- Be open to learning new systems, including basic PLC awareness, machine logic, and technical drawings.
- Take on increasing responsibilities over time as knowledge and skill sets grow.
