Job summary

Air Liquide in Manchester is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure reliability of our production plant and equipment through reactive and planned preventative maintenance. You will work with subcontractors, maintain calibration records, and maybe lead small installation projects, with occasional travel to other IPG locations.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering background, familiarity with cryogenic systems, and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• COMAH site experience desirable.
• Knowledge of Pressure Safety Systems Regulations written schemes.
• Maintenance knowledge in plant/process instrumentation, controls, electrical and safety systems.
• Experience with Permit to Work systems, RAMS, and Management of Change procedures.
• Knowledge of cryogenic processes, compressors, and cooling systems desirable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; proactive with own initiative and prioritisation.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine and breakdown maintenance on cryogenic pumps and industrial packaged gas filling systems per engineering best practices.
• Schedule and perform on-time maintenance with production teams and subcontractors to minimise downtime.
• Manage local spare parts inventory to maintain productivity within budget.
• Participate in safety walks and risk assessments.
• Log statutory data and defects in the CMMS; support Capex with data.
• Collaborate with Engineering Team on obsolescence, system upgrades and change processes.
