Job summary

Caterpillar Desford is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide maintenance support across the Desford facility. You will diagnose, repair, and prevent equipment issues, manage parts and follow safety standards while upholding Caterpillar values and pursuing continuous learning.

Role involves working on electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial setting with potential out-of-hours work and a shift pattern. Full-time permanent position with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining equipment and using a computerised maintenance system.
  • Responding to equipment breakdowns and completing repairs to equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions on industrial/assembly equipment, machinery and building as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as per schedules.
  • Order replacement parts and stocks.
  • Adhere to the company’s Health & Safety policy and safe working practices.

  • Undertake training/further learning as required.

As Maintenance Technician you provide maintenance support to the entire Caterpillar Desford facility.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


  • Maintaining equipment and using a computerised maintenance system.


  • Responding to equipment breakdowns and completing repairs to equipment.


  • Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions on industrial/assembly equipment, machinery and building as required.


  • Perform preventative maintenance as per schedules.


  • Order replacement parts and stocks.


  • Adhere to the company’s Health & Safety policy and safe working practices.


  • Adhere to Caterpillar’s Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork.


  • Undertake training/further learning as required.

Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience in using PLC based systems would be an advantage.


  • Relevant experience working in an industrial / manufacturing environment.

Salary:

£36,450 rising to £40,400 once fully competent + shift allowance
