Contract Maintenance Technician - Electrical Bias (Shift-based Manufacturing)
12-Month Contract | Competitive Hourly Rate + Overtime | 6-Week Rotating Shifts | Immediate Start

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a leading precision manufacturing and engineering business on a 12-month contract. This is a hands‑on, shift‑based role in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical production environment.

The Role

You'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and control systems across production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

Key tasks include:

  • Electrical fault‑finding and repair on motors, drives, sensors, panels, and conveyors
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues on PLCs, HMIs, and variable frequency drives
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
  • Performing preventive maintenance (PPM) and recording accurate maintenance data
  • Supporting continuous improvement and root‑cause analysis activities
  • Working safely under permit‑to‑work and lockout/tagout (LOTO) systems
About You
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance
  • Proven experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial automation environments
  • Confident with PLC fault‑finding, electrical isolations, and technical documentation
  • Flexible to work rotating day and night shifts (3 on / 3 off)
