Job description

As part of our supportive team, you will develop and grow into delivering a great service within the Maintenance department. Alongside the Maintenance Team Leader, you will play a fundamental role in ensuring the smooth running of the guest journey from the moment each guest arrives. Working together with a large, diverse, and multi‑skilled team, you will help all guests enjoy the highest quality stay by keeping abreast of all essential maintenance repairs and minor works.

Responsibilities

• Support the Maintenance Team Leader in maintaining the building and plumbing.
• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating, including preparation of walls and minor surface repairs prior to painting.
• Perform independent maintenance tasks to keep the building looking its best and all areas fully functional.
• Use and maintain a range of equipment such as hand tools, power tools, and door lock equipment.
• Maintain a guest‑focused, positive, and problem‑solving attitude.
• Support the wider team wherever needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Detail‑oriented painter and decorator experience.
• Willingness to learn maintenance in a large hotel; previous maintenance technician experience helpful, but not essential.
• Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a guest‑centric mindset.

Pay and Working Hours

Pay rates up to £12.21 per hour depending on age.
