About the Client

My client is a leading design and manufacturer within the automotive sector, having grown to employ over 500 staff and build a reputation for market leadership. Due to year‑on‑year growth, a healthy order book, and continued expansion, the client is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their Maintenance team.

Role Overview

The role is 50% hands‑on maintenance and 50% management, suited to a Maintenance Engineer with experience implementing a Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) system, or a Maintenance Supervisor willing to be both hands‑on and supervisory.

Responsibilities
  • Planned, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all plant, equipment and facilities, specialising in electrical (presses, guillotines, welding equipment, paint equipment)
  • Hands‑on leadership and front‑line supervision
  • Supervision of 1 Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, 1 Maintenance Coordinator, 1 Facilities Engineer and contractors
  • Electrical installation, inspection and testing of electrical installations
  • Electrical repair, fault‑finding and diagnosis
  • Continuous improvement and projects to reduce downtime, cost and reliance on contractors
  • Coaching, developing, nurturing and training the maintenance team
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Time‑served electrical maintenance engineer
  • Experience of planned, predictive and breakdown maintenance of manufacturing plant, equipment and facilities
  • Experience maintaining paint shops and mixing units, cranes and welding equipment
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to install, test, maintain and repair electrical systems in commercial/industrial buildings
  • Qualified 17th or 18th edition and NVQ Level 3
  • Strong reading and understanding of wiring of electrical components and circuits
