Maintenance Superintendent - Staff - Manufacturing - Strong Salary + Benefits - North Lincolnshire
Our leading manufacturing client is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent on a staff basis. You will be reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will support the Maintenance Manager in co-ordinating the maintenance priorities of all trade groups on a daily basis (mechanical, I&E, fabrication and repairable spares). You will be accountable for the efficient execution of the daily maintenance schedule.
Responsibilities
- Work with the maintenance and operations team to ensure they follow and fully support the process for work prioritisation, planning, scheduling, work execution, job close-out and review.
- Lead the development and execution of improvement programmes in maintenance execution both for company and Contract (improving maintenance tool time).
- Works with the Operations Supervisor, Coordinator and Scheduler to set daily priorities.
- Optimises interrelations / coordination between maintenance functions (e.g. mechanical, electrical, contractor, civil and facilities).
- Develop and leads improvement initiatives to increase OEE.
- Accountability for the maintenance supervisor's 1-2-1's and associated training / development plans.
- Accountable for the maintenance spend of training, tools & equipment, hire, external resources (day-work labour) etc.
Experience & Qualifications
- Preference, HNC or Degree qualified in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Proven capability in managing, developing and motivating multi-discipline teams.
- Demonstrated effective use of and adherence to legislative Process Safety systems and procedures.
- Excellent problem solving skills including 6 Sigma, RCA, FEMA and RCM.
- Ability to read or produce engineering drawings, P&IDs and trip schedules.
- Good written communication and report writing; ability to produce management reports, capital investment proposals etc
- A self-starter with a “CAN DO” approach
- Knowledge of project management principles and tools.
- Knowledge of planning & scheduling.
- Experience of break down, predictive and preventative maintenance strategies
- Good people motivator and communicator who can achieve results through working with people in an informal culture
- Act as a role model to others by demonstrating high standards of work practice and behaviour in line with the company's' code of business ethics and core values.
- Knowledge of current legislation & statutory requirements, as applicable to this role in the chemical industry
- Knowledge of a wide variety of industrial systems and equipment, gained in a maintenance / reliability environment, probably through experience in a number of organisations
