Job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Plumber/Fitter to work as a member of a multi-tasking maintenance team, providing professional and technical expertise within an effective and efficient customer focused maintenance service to provide a fit for purpose estate and environment to all Trust owned, leased or rented properties.

The post will be initially based at Springfield Hospital and will be required to be based or work in any property owned, leased or rented by the Trust. This role includes on‑call duties.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out all work in a safe and efficient manner and bring to the attention of the Supervisors and management any known defect requiring further attention.
  • Liaise with contractors regarding minor project work.
  • Attend a process of effective communication/team briefing, with supervisors under sphere of responsibility.
  • Communicate with all disciplines in an effective manner using tact and diplomacy in often difficult situations ensuring confidentiality is maintained when appropriate.
  • Communicate with supervisors to ensure that stores and equipment are kept at the correct levels to provide a quick efficient service.
  • Communicate with ward managers, ward staff and customers any delays in maintenance requests as required to provide a customer focused service.
  • Promote the delivery of safe, quality, value for money Maintenance Services across the Trust.
  • Comply with statutory and mandatory requirements relating to Maintenance services and procedures.
