Synergi Search & Select Ltd is helping a leading UK manufacturer in Peterborough recruit a Maintenance Planner to plan and coordinate all maintenance activities across site. The role offers a competitive £45,000 salary, Monday–Friday days, and strong employee benefits.

You will work with the engineering team, production, stores, and external contractors to ensure maintenance work is fully planned, resourced and compliant before execution.

Qualifications

• Experience as Maintenance Planner or similar role.
• Experience using a CMMS: SAP PM, Maximo, Shire or Pirana.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of RAMS, permits, HSE, PUWER requirements.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or heavy industry environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
• Create detailed maintenance work plans and job packs.
• Coordinate labour, materials, contractors, permits and resources.
• Manage contractor relationships and service agreements.
• Maintain and update the CMMS system.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs and equipment reliability.
• Ensure RAMS, HSE, LOLER and PUWER compliance.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating all maintenance activities across site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to production. You will work closely with the engineering team, production departments, stores, and external contractors to ensure maintenance work is fully planned, resourced, and compliant before execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule preventative and reactive maintenance activities
• Create detailed maintenance work plans and job packs
• Coordinate labour, materials, contractors, permits, and resources
• Manage contractor relationships and service agreements
• Maintain and update the CMMS system
• Monitor maintenance KPIs, downtime, and equipment reliability
• Ensure compliance with RAMS, HSE, LOLER, and PUWER requirements
• Support shutdown planning and major maintenance projects
• Drive continuous improvement within the maintenance function

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Planner, Engineering Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, or similar
• Experience using a CMMS system (SAP PM, Maximo, Shire, Pirana, or equivalent)
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance activities
• Knowledge of maintenance compliance, permits, and RAMS
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, heavy industry, building products, aggregates, quarrying, utilities, recycling, or process manufacturing environments
