Job summary

McDonald’s United Kingdom is seeking a Maintenance Person to uphold cleanliness, safety and excellent service across the restaurant. You will support day-to-day upkeep, coordinate with contractors, and help ensure smooth operations during shifts across Early Mornings, Afternoons and Evenings.

The role offers full training, flexible weekday/weekend hours, and a friendly team environment within our busy restaurant network.

• No experience required; full training will be given.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the restaurant’s interior and exterior to ensure cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
• Carry out maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, varnishing, and minor non-electrical repairs.
• Maintain and monitor parking facilities for a safe and welcoming environment.
• Organise, receive, and rotate food deliveries to support freshness and efficiency.
• Collaborate with management to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Coordinate with external contractors for timely repairs with minimal disruption.
• Keep equipment and facilities in prime working condition.
• Follow all workplace safety, hygiene and operational procedures.

What does a day as a Maintenance Person look like?

As a Maintenance Person, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the restaurant, covering a varied scope of responsibilities across the site, ensuring the restaurant is set up for success to deliver a great customer experience. Your responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting the restaurant’s interior and exterior to ensure all areas meet McDonald’s high standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality.


• Carry out a variety of maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, varnishing, and minor non-electrical equipment repairs.


• Maintain and monitor parking facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for customers and crew.


• Organise, receive, and rotate food deliveries to support freshness and operational efficiency.


• Collaborate with the restaurant management team to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.


• Coordinate with external contractors to ensure timely repairs with minimal disruption to restaurant operations.


• Support the overall functionality of the restaurant by keeping equipment and facilities in prime working condition.


• Completing tasks in line with training and company guidelines


• Following all workplace safety, hygiene and operational procedures


• Treating customers and colleagues with courtesy and respect


• Working as a supportive team member and contributing to a positive environment

As a key part of the restaurant team, you will work as a supportive colleague and demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm for the standards in all areas of the restaurant inside and out.
