Job summary

Evolve Care Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Person to perform repairs, decorating and planned maintenance at Catherine House. You will join a small team and work across the home to keep it welcoming and well-maintained.

The role includes practical tasks such as fixing leaks, radiators and fire doors, plus regular safety checks on fire alarms, equipment and hot water systems. You will record checks, maintain maintenance books, and coordinate follow-up actions with the Home Manager.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, decorating and planned maintenance across Catherine House.
• Repair leaks, fix radiators, and fit fire doors as required.
• Perform regular fire alarm, equipment and hot water temperature checks.
• Keep maintenance records up to date in the maintenance books.
• Flag any issues for follow-up and coordinate with the Home Manager.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Person with a broad range of practical skills across repairs, decorating and building maintenance, as well as knowledge of health and safety and experience with compliance checks. The role sits within a team of three Maintenance People and offers a varied mix of hands-on repairs, decorating and planned maintenance. We're looking for someone who enjoys working across different trades and brings personality to the home. What does the work involve? The maintenance team carries out repairs, decorating and planned work across Catherine House, helping to keep it looking and feeling like a home, not an institution. The work could include repairing a leak, fixing a radiator, fitting fire doors, decorating a room or dealing with other maintenance needs as they arise. Regular fire alarm, equipment and hot water temperature checks are also part of the role. These checks need to be recorded, with maintenance books kept up to date and anything needing attention followed up.

Who else works in the home?

Alongside the two other Maintenance People, the role involves working with the Home Manager and wider team. We have a one-team approach, with team members sharing anything they notice that needs maintenance attention.
