Maintenance Operative – London

Salary: Competitive + Company Vehicle & Tools
Hours: Full‑time (minimum 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday)
Location: South East / South West London (occasional weekend work may be required for emergencies)

I am looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Operative. You'll be the go‑to expert for keeping sites safe, functional, and looking their best. From plumbing and carpentry to painting and minor electrical work, your craftsmanship will directly impact the experience of thousands of customers.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Plumbing: Fix leaks, replace taps and washers, unblock waste pipes, and refit sanitary ware.
  • Carpentry: Adjust doors, install locks, fit shelving, and repair trolleys.
  • Painting & Decorating: Touch‑ups, repainting bollards and floors, and general upkeep.
  • Sheet Metalwork: Repair storage units, replace signage, and fix accident damage.
  • Electrical: Replace lamps and starters in office and storage areas.
  • General Maintenance: Tackle a variety of tasks as directed by your manager.
What You'll Bring:
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong plumbing skills and hands‑on experience across multiple trades.
  • A solid understanding of safety practices, manual handling, and tool inspections.
  • Confidence using ladders, paints, solvents, and PPE.
  • Excellent route planning and map reading skills.
  • A proactive, courteous attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
