Maintenance Operative – Oak Springs Care Home

£13.17 per hour | 37.5 hours per week | Shift pattern: 8am‑4pm, including weekends.

Join us at Oak Springs, our luxury purpose‑built residential care home in Wavertree. We provide the highest standard of residential, respite, and dementia care for older people.

Our beautiful 74‑bedded home is spread across three floors, and our lively team supports the vibrant community of residents to enjoy everything from music rooms and a beauty salon to peaceful lounge and courtyard areas. We embrace sensory enlightenment, encourage individuality, and focus on enhancing quality of life, rather than just preserving it.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining the building and equipment.
  • Carry out routine checks weekly, monthly, and annually on systems and ensure external checks are completed on time.
  • Monitor and respond to fire alarms, boiler and lift emergencies.
  • Make effective and efficient use of resources in maintenance or repair work.
  • Maintain building, grounds, and equipment to ensure safety of residents, staff, and visitors, including decoration, repair, minor plumbing works and garden upkeep.
  • Maintain good communication and relationships with other teams and colleagues.
  • Maintain awareness of the Home's policies and procedures, especially the Fire Policy.
  • Participate in training and development as an individual and as part of the team.
  • Induct new staff by training them on building layout and fire policies and procedures.
  • Control and order stock, and accept and check deliveries.
  • Maintain awareness of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Observe and maintain high levels of communication within staff, colleagues, and residents.
  • Carry out any additional duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience of property maintenance, including basic plumbing repairs.
  • Initiative‑driven and excellent troubleshooting skills, able to source solutions to maintenance issues on short notice.
  • Reliable, dedicated, and patient, with excellent attention to detail.
