This role as a Maintenance Operative at Avery Healthcare's care home in Kents Hill is a great opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the residents by ensuring the building and grounds are well maintained. With a focus on carrying out routine maintenance tasks, checks, and basic repairs, you will play a crucial part in keeping the facilities fully functional and the home running smoothly.

Job responsibilities
  • Carry out all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs including electrical, plumbing, joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the home.
  • Support new residents to arrange their rooms as they wish.
  • Ensure routine re-decoration is undertaken as required to maintain the standards in the home.
  • Advise on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
  • Provide out of hours emergency service, participating in the on-call rota.

About the role

Your focus as a Maintenance Operative will be to ensure the building and grounds are well maintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems whilst ensuring facilities are fully functional.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs including electrical, plumbing, joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
  • Supporting new residents to arrange their rooms as they wish.
  • Ensuring routine re-decoration is undertaken as required to maintain the standards in the home.
