Job summary

St Philip's Care is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Bonchester Bridge Care Centre to support daily maintenance, service and grounds upkeep, ensuring a safe, efficient and functional environment for residents and staff.

Reporting to the Care Centre Manager, you will perform general maintenance, manage energy use, keep records, and supervise external contractors while ensuring high standards of decoration and safety across the home. Training and progression opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Flexible approach to work and adaptability within a care setting.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing tasks.
• High standard of DIY including decorating interior/exterior.
• Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies.
• Understanding of heating systems and safe operation of appliances.
• Basic understanding of electrical appliances and safety.
• Ability to maintain accurate inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home.
• Ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times.
• Ensure external areas and grounds are tidy and well maintained.
• Supervise outside contractors
• Minimize costs by monitoring energy consumption and maintaining records.
• Upkeep health and safety records and periodic testing of appliances.
• Respond to emergency situations within the home

Maintenance Operative Bank – Bonchester Bridge Care Centre

Our Residential Care Home is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Maintenance Operative to assist in the day to day running of a busy and vibrant care establishment.

Reporting to the Care Centre Manager the incumbent will carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds to ensure that the Home is maintained in a safe, efficient and functional order.

Job Role

• To carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home.
• To ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times.
• To ensure all external areas and grounds are kept tidy and well maintained to ensure the smart appearance of the home.
• To supervise outside contractors
• To minimize costs by monitoring energy consumption and maintaining written records.
• To upkeep all health and safety records and the periodic testing of appliances and functional items within the home.
• Expectation for post holder to responds to emergency situations within the home

Candidates Should Have:
