Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Droitwich Mews Care Home in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire. You will maintain the building and grounds, perform routine maintenance tasks, and support residents with room setup.

The role requires general maintenance experience, a full driving licence, and knowledge of health and safety practices. You will be part of a caring team dedicated to high standards of care and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year’s experience in a general maintenance or handy person role.
• Full driving licence.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
• DBS check will be required; proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsabilités

• Carry out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs (electrical, plumbing, joinery, building) inside and outside the Home.
• Support new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
• Ensure routine re-decoration to maintain home standards.
• Advise on supplies and quality of items; order replacements as needed.
• Provide out-of-hours emergency service and participate in the on-call rota.

We’re now looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award-winning team as a Maintenance Operative at Droitwich Mews Care Home in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Maintenance Operative will be to ensure the building and grounds are well maintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systems whilst ensuring facilities are fully functional.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs including all electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
• Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
• Ensuring routine re-decoration is undertaken as required to maintain the standards in the home.
• Advising on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
• Providing out of hours emergency service, participating in the on-call rota.
