Job summary

Gold Care Homes is seeking a maintenance professional for Lansdowne Care Home in London to uphold safety and comfort. You will maintain the building, grounds and essential systems, performing routine checks and responding to alarms to ensure resident safety.

You will manage stock, assist with small repairs, support fire policy compliance, and help train new staff on the building layout. The role offers development opportunities and colleagues committed to high standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the building and equipment.
• Carry out routine checks weekly, monthly and annually on home systems, ensuring external checks are completed on schedule.
• Monitor fire alarm, boilers and lift and respond promptly to alerts.
• Make efficient use of resources in maintenance or repair tasks.
• Stock control and procurement of small items for the home.

About our Home:

Lansdowne Care Home provides support for people living with a range of differing health needs, offering residential, nursing and dementia care on a long-term or short-term and respite basis.

Our home benefits from a bright and sunny landscaped garden, where residents can take the opportunity for exploring, relaxing and participating in gardening activities when the weather allows.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the building and equipment
• out routine checks weekly, monthly, and annually on systems in the home and ensuring that external checks are carried out within the agreed timeframe – e.g Loler testing
• Monitor and respond to the fire alarm call, boilers and lift.
• Make effective and efficient use of resources in any maintenance or repair.
• To conduct Banking and purchase of small items for the home.
• Maintain the building, grounds and equipment to ensure the safety of residents, staff and visitors to the House including decoration and repair, minor plumbing works and maintaining the garden areas.
• Maintain good communication and relationships with other teams and colleagues at the House.
• Maintain awareness of the Home’s policies and procedures especially the Fire Policy.
• Participate in Training and Development as an individual and as part of the team.
• Get involved in the induction of new staff by training them on the building layout and fire policies and procedures.
• Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
• Control and ordering of stock and acceptance and checking of deliveries.
• Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.
• Observe and maintain high levels of communication within the teams of staff, individual colleagues and residents.
• Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
• To carry out any additional duties as requested.
• To undertake any additional training and development programmes the Home may consider appropriate to enhance your contribution to the work at this home.
