Job summary

Coverage Care Services Ltd is seeking a reliable Maintenance Operative to join our care home team in Bishop's Castle. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, conduct routine inspections, and perform PAT testing on admission and annually to keep residents’ environment safe and welcoming.

Experience in building maintenance and knowledge of health and safety regulations are essential. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently across indoor and outdoor areas will help

Qualifications

• Previous building, property maintenance, or general maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Understanding of facilities management and building maintenance.
• Experience within a social care setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and repairs throughout the home.
• Conduct routine building inspections and audits, ensuring any required actions are completed.
• Undertake Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on admission and annually.
• Maintain the gardens and outdoor areas to a high standard, encouraging resident involvement where appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and safeguarding requirements.
• Safely store and use equipment, tools, and chemicals.
