Job summary

A community support organization in Sunderland is seeking a Maintenance Officer to deliver high-quality maintenance and gardening services. The ideal candidate will operate independently and within a team, ensuring a safe environment. Responsibilities include maintenance repairs, overseeing systems, and supporting grounds maintenance. A valid UK Driving Licence is required, with competitive pay of £12.60 per hour.

Maintenance Officer

Working Pattern - Monday, Thursday and Friday (7.5 hours per day)

Salary - £12.60 per hour

About The Role

Youll work as part of a supportive team, delivering high-quality maintenance, gardening, and general support services that help create a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out internal and external maintenance and repairs
  • Oversee electrical, plumbing, and alarm systems
  • Maintain and service Convent vehicles
  • Support gardening and grounds maintenance tasks
  • Escort and oversee contractors on site
  • Assist with furniture movement and general duties
  • Transport Sisters to appointments and deliver donations
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report safety risks

  • Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the role
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Valid UK Driving Licence (Category B)

The role is subject to a successful enhanced DBS, the cost of this will be covered by SJOG.
