Temporary Maintenance Officer – Edinburgh

Duration: 3–6 months

Rate: £22–£25 per hour (depending on experience and pay type)

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Officer to join a well-established housing association based in Edinburgh on a temporary basis.

About the role:

You’ll be responsible for overseeing and coordinating reactive repairs and maintenance across the association’s housing stock. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where strong communication and problem‑solving skills are key.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing day‑to‑day reactive repair works and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Liaising with tenants, contractors, and colleagues to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
  • Conducting property inspections and identifying maintenance requirements.
  • Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports.
What we’re looking for
  • Previous experience working within a Registered Social Landlord (RSL) or housing association – essential.
  • Strong understanding of building maintenance and repair processes.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
