Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a valued public sector client for an experienced Maintenance Officer to join their property and estates team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance works across a portfolio of public sector properties.

  • Carry out regular inspections to identify and report on maintenance needs and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

  • Liaise with contractors and internal teams to ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard.

  • Maintain accurate records of works carried out, inspections, and safety checks.

  • Support health and safety compliance by ensuring best practice is followed on all maintenance activities.

Essential Criteria:
  • Previous experience in a maintenance, building services, or facilities management role.

  • Good working knowledge of building maintenance procedures and relevant legislation.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.

  • Willingness to undergo and successfully complete an AccessNI background check prior to starting employment.

Desirable:
  • Experience working within a public sector or local government environment.

  • Relevant qualifications in building maintenance, construction, or facilities management.
