Maintenance Mechanical Engineer

Carbon60 is looking to recruit a Joiner to work for a leading Facilities Management company based in Leeds.

ROLE: Maintenance Mechanical Engineer /Shift Engineer

PAY RATE: £ 18 p/h PAYE

JOB TYPE: 3 months Contract

LOCATION: Leeds, LS9

HOURS: 4 on 4 off Shift Pattern, 6am to 6pm And 6pm to 6am

THE ROLE:
  • Work as part of a dynamic maintenance team on a 4-on/4-off shift pattern, ensuring the hospital is maintained to the highest standard while delivering a customer-facing and responsive service to the Leeds Health Wing.
  • Undertake a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, testing, and inspections on building, mechanical, and electrical services, systems, and equipment in line with NHS, Trust, and company safety standards.
  • Lead and support a small shift team of Maintenance Craftsmen and Assistants, providing technical guidance, maintaining accurate records and service reports, and ensuring compliance with all operational and safety procedures.
  • Maintain, service, and repair systems including heating and domestic water, general electrical services, air handling units, low voltage distribution and switchgear, emergency standby generators, fire alarms, emergency lighting, electrical controls, and the Building Management System.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and multi-skilling by assisting other trades, undertaking small installation or upgrade works, completing required training for Authorised Person duties, providing cover for colleagues, supporting other healthcare projects, and working overtime when required to maintain service continuity.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
  • Qualified time-served engineer.
  • Minimum 3 years post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Healthcare experience desirable but not essential.
  • Cross-trade experience advantageous.
