MAINTENANCE MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Carbon60 is looking to recruit a Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to deliver high-quality mechanical maintenance services at a healthcare facility in Bristol.

ROLE: Maintenance Mechanical Engineer

HOURS: Full-time, shift patterns as required

CONTRACT TYPE: Temporary / Ongoing

LOCATION: Bristol, BS20

The Role

Provide reactive and planned maintenance to ensure the hospital is maintained to the highest standard.

Carry out mechanical and building services maintenance, testing, inspection, and minor installation works.

Maintain and service heating, domestic water, air handling units, electrical systems, low voltage distribution, standby generators, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and BMS systems.

Support colleagues and provide technical guidance where needed.

Undertake training to develop Authorised Person duties and multi-skilled flexibility.

Maintain records and complete service reports, reporting progress to the maintenance supervisor.

Liaise with other teams and healthcare projects as required.

Participate in overtime and cover duties to maintain service continuity.

Essential Requirements
  • Qualified time-served engineer (NVQ Level 3) with minimum 3 years post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance skills across building services.
  • Competent in health, safety, and statutory compliance within building services environments.
  • Ability to operate independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong reporting, communication, and organisational skills.
Desirable
  • Previous healthcare or NHS facility experience.
  • Cross-trade experience.
  • Experience acting as Competent or Authorised Person.
