You will manage a coordinated, data‑led approach to power planning and improvement, overseeing teams responsible for critical electrical and mechanical systems.

We are expanding our Power Resilience capability to enhance how power is planned, maintained and improved across our operations.
We are looking for talented individuals to join this growing team and help build a coordinated, data‑led approach to managing Power Resilience across Thames Water.
As Maintenance Manager you will lead the delivery and quality assurance of maintenance for auxiliary power supplies and associated assets. You will be responsible for ensuring that the auxiliary power systems that keep operational sites running during outages or emergencies are ready to respond when they are needed. You will also work to strengthen resilience today while building internal capability for the future. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical area of UK infrastructure and make a meaningful difference to customer outcomes and environmental protection. As the team grows, members will help shape future ways of working and bring their expertise to create lasting impact across Thames Water.
Base location: Hampton Coal Wharf - TW12 2ES or Reading - Kemble Court - RG2 6AD
Working pattern or hours: Hybrid - 36 Hours per week (Monday to Friday)
You will lead, motivate and develop a team of professionals to achieve high performance and support future internal capability development.
You will oversee maintenance and quality assurance for auxiliary power supplies and assets, ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
You will work with internal and external teams to standardise inspection practices and ensure auxiliary power asset testing and maintenance governance is effective, reliable and compliant.
You will manage planning and budgets, contributing to policy development within the maintenance function.
Proven experience leading operational/technical teams and delivering outputs to required time, quality and compliance standards with demonstrable experience developing people and team leadership. Strong commercial judgement with contractor performance and resource planning experience Experience managing compliance, maintenance planning and operational budgets. Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external contractors to drive improvement.
