Maintenance Manager London needed for a world class manufacturer. You must have good hands on experience as Maintenance Engineer and have some leadership experience within Manufacturing in either Packaging, Plastics, Beverage, FMCG, Food, Pharma or Automotive manufacturing.

Salary £65,000, Good pension, based in London, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, good career development, training and progression.

Job Summary:

We are supporting to find a Maintenance Manager who is as comfortable leading a team as they are getting hands‑on with machinery. In this role, the Maintenance Manager will oversee the maintenance operations of our manufacturing facility while actively participating in repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary Maintenance Manager, leading and mentoring the maintenance team to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Perform hands‑on maintenance.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies that reduce downtime and increase equipment lifespan, while staying directly involved in daily maintenance tasks.
  • Actively inspect machinery, perform repairs, and work on complex issues alongside technicians, demonstrating leadership through action.
  • Track and report maintenance KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring the maintenance team meets operational goals.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, procurement, and equipment upgrades in collaboration with production teams.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience:

Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer and Lead Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment. Strong hands‑on skills in mechanical or electrical, demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team while staying actively involved in maintenance work. Experience implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programmes. Excellent problem‑solving, organisational, and communication skills. Technical certification or degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
