AG Barr, the home of iconic brands, is looking for a dynamic Maintenance Manager to champion our site maintenance program in Cumbernauld.

Responsibilities

What we're looking for...

  • As the Maintenance Manager, you'll be the driving force ensuring our manufacturing and distribution equipment is always available to meet demanding service requirements. You'll lead by example, providing vision, support, and development to our Engineering Team Leaders and their teams.
  • Strategic Maintenance: Design and execute a highly effective maintenance programme, clearly defining tasks and frequencies to optimise asset reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) & Efficiency: Be the site lead for CI, using tools like root cause analysis to continually improve the maintenance plan and breakdown execution. Your focus will be on driving key site scorecard targets, including OEE, availability, performance, and yield.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop your team to enhance their management and technical capabilities, providing clear direction for engineering excellence.
  • Budget & Project Management: Be accountable for the full plant maintenance budget (parts and labour), including budget creation. You'll also manage small capital projects (>£10k, <£20k) focused on maintenance systems.
  • Compliance & Systems: Manage and maintain 100% site compliance with critical regulations like LOLER and PSSR. You will also be responsible for developing and ensuring the accuracy of our Mainsaver Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for accurate, value-added reporting.
Qualifications

What you will bring:

You'll be a proven, hands-on leader with a passion for process efficiency and team motivation.

  • Proven Leadership: A demonstrable track record in successfully managing, mentoring, and developing technical teams.
  • Technical Authority: Strong functional knowledge across Mechanical, Electrical, and Automation maintenance. You'll be dual-skilled and be educated to a minimum HND level in Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
  • Strategic Maintenance Knowledge: Good understanding and practical experience in implementing advanced maintenance strategies, including FMEA criticality and TPM principles.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and effectively collaborate with Production Managers and other key stakeholders to drive zonal improvement processes.
  • Safety & Systems Focus: Deep appreciation and practical experience with Permit to Work systems and the control of contractors. A strong understanding of Health & Safety systems of work, including Risk Assessment, RAMS, HOC, and incident investigations is essential.
  • Work progressively within an ISO 55001 engineering environment.
