Job summary

Dover District Council is seeking a Maintenance/Property Surveyor to inspect properties and related assets, identify required repairs, and support planned works and the compliance team. The role sits in the Property Assets department, handling responsive repairs, general maintenance and void work across the district.

Successful candidates will work in a busy team, with a focus on delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service to tenants and leaseholders.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building defects and remedial works
• Ability to diagnose issues and specify repairs
• Effective communication with tenants, leaseholders, and contractors
• Understanding of construction techniques and building maintenance
• Experience in a team environment
• Desirable: public sector experience
• Desirable: Building/Surveying qualification

Responsibilities

• Inspect properties and assets to identify required repairs to keep tenants' houses safe, compliant and fit for purpose
• Support planned works and compliance team with maintenance tasks
• Work within Property Assets team on responsive repairs, general maintenance and void work
• Coordinate repairs from inspection to post-inspection
• Communicate with tenants, leaseholders and contractors to deliver customer-focused service
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical staff
• Be prepared for Enhanced DBS check and full UK driving license and vehicle for business use
