Job summary

JCB is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join our team on a permanent basis. You will diagnose breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain mechanical services across our manufacturing facilities.

The role offers 4 on 4 off shifts with day and night patterns and occasional international travel. We value experience in fault finding CNC tools, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship and hold an HNC qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience in fault finding and repairing CNC machine tools.
• Confident carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
• Skilled in maintaining pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, including machine tools, process plant, and material handling equipment.
• Flexible with varied shift patterns and overtime as required.
• Organised and able to plan and manage work schedules effectively.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills and able to work as part of a team.

The Opportunity - Maintenance Fitter

About the role

We're now hiring for 4 on 4 off shifts on a mix of days and nights which attracts an average OTE of £55,000-£60,000 *inclusive of typical overtime and shift premiums.

Salary: £55,000-£60,000

This will be suited to you if…

• You’ve completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship and hold an HNC qualification (or equivalent)


• You have experience in fault finding and repairing CNC machine tools


• You’re confident carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance tasks


• You’re skilled in maintaining pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, including machine tools, process plant, and material handling equipment


• You’re flexible with working varied shift patterns and overtime as needed


• You’re organised, able to plan and manage work schedules effectively
  
• You have strong spoken and written communication skills, and enjoy working as part of a team
