Job summary

A growing engineering firm in Ballymena is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter for a permanent position. In this role, you'll ensure the smooth operation of milling and materials transfer equipment through preventative and reactive maintenance. Candidates should have over 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience and strong troubleshooting skills. The role offers full-time hours from Monday to Friday with a competitive pay of up to £20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical equipment maintenance experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in electro/mechanical systems.
• Valid UK driving license and own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production milling and materials transfer equipment.
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Assist with the installation of new equipment.

Job Details

• Up to £20.00 per hour
• Monday - Friday
• 8.00 am – 5.00 pm (opportunities for additional hours)
• Full time
• On-the-job training on feed mill production machinery
• Permanent role

What you'll be doing in this role

• You’ll play a key role in keeping production milling and materials transfer equipment running smoothly.
• Preventative and reactive maintenance
• Mechanical repairs and electro/mechanical troubleshooting
• Assisting with the installation of new equipment
• Improving equipment efficiency and ensuring a safe working environment

What you'll need for this role

• Proven experience in mechanical equipment maintenance (3+ years)
• Strong electro/mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work indoors, outdoors, and in all weather conditions
• Good spoken & written English communication skills
• Forklift license (or willingness to obtain one)
• Ability to lift 30kg
• Valid UK driving license & own transportation
