Maintenance Engineer – Weekend Shift

Location: Redditch — Salary: Competitive (including weekend shift allowance) — Shift Pattern: Friday – Sunday, 6am – 6pm.

Company Overview

A leading manufacturer is seeking a Weekend Maintenance Engineer to join its growing maintenance team. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production equipment as the business continues to invest in new machinery and expand operations.

Role Overview

As a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems. You'll play a key role in minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives during the weekend shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
Candidate Profile
  • Time‑served or qualified in electrical engineering (mechanical knowledge advantageous).
  • Strong experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in fault‑finding on electrical systems, including PLCs (Siemens experience desirable).
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities during weekend shifts.
  • Proactive and solutions‑focused with excellent problem‑solving skills.

  • Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday, 6am – 6pm.
