  • Respond to breakdowns, diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults (bearings, belts, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, drives, etc.).
  • Assist with basic electrical fault finding when required.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance equipment reliability, performance, and efficiency.
Installation & Projects
  • Support installation, setup, and commissioning of new or refurbished machinery.
  • Ensure all engineering work meets site safety, compliance, and operational standards.
Health & Safety Compliance
  • Adhere to all site safety procedures, including risk assessments and permit‑to‑work systems.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with statutory and company requirements.
Record Keeping & Collaboration
  • Maintain accurate service records, parts usage logs, and downtime reports.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to minimise downtime and support operational targets.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical systems (motors, sensors, contactors, safety circuits).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and basic electrical drawings.
  • Experience with CNC machinery, saws, edge‑banders, dust extraction systems, and conveyors (advantageous within worktop manufacturing).
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong commitment to health & safety and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
