Job summary

PSM Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer in Ramsgate, Kent, to support injection moulding machinery, robotics and production equipment. The role offers a hands-on, safety‑conscious environment with opportunities to implement improvements and reduce downtime.

The successful candidate will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance and work with Production, Quality, Tooling and Engineering teams to keep downtime to a minimum and drive continuous improvement outcomes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a maintenance engineer in manufacturing or production.
• Strong fault-finding skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with PLC-controlled machinery and control systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Structured fault-finding and root-cause analysis approach.
• Experience with injection moulding equipment, robotics or related systems.
• Ability to work safely under pressure and prioritise maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault find, repair and maintain electrical and electronic systems including PLCs, sensors, safety circuits, drives and control equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems used with injection moulding machines, robots and ancillary equipment.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, adjustments and fabrication on machinery and conveyors.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM), condition checks and inspections, identifying defects before breakdowns.
• Respond promptly to production breakdowns, prioritising safety and production needs.
• Support installation, commissioning and modification of plant and machinery.
• Maintain robotic systems and associated production equipment.
• Accurately record breakdowns, repairs, PPM activities, parts used and follow‑up actions in the CMMS.
• Support root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement to improve machine reliability and energy efficiency.
