A manufacturing company in Telford is seeking an engineer to oversee production lines, ensuring quality and productivity targets are met. Responsibilities include managing machinery breakdowns, overseeing stock and departmental spends, and supporting training for junior staff. Ideal candidates should possess an engineering qualification and relevant experience. The role offers a KPI-related bonus, pension scheme, and other benefits.
Reports to: Senior Engineer
Hours of work:
Three Rotational
Week 1 - Sunday 11.00pm to 6.00am, Monday to Thursday 10.00pm to 6.00am
Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 2.00pm to 10.00pm, Friday 1.00pm to 8.00pm
Week 3 - Monday to Thursday 6.00am to 2.00pm, Friday 6.00am to 1.00pm
Supervisory responsibilities: Maintenance Technicians and Apprentices.
Position Summary: The post holder is required to ensure all Production lines are achieving daily Quality, production outputs and productivity targets. The role focuses on quick response to day‑to‑day breakdowns, implementing root‑cause countermeasures for repetitive breakdowns, and improving machine output while maintaining product quality.
Main job functions: Respond to machinery breakdowns rapidly and efficiently, using logical fault‑finding to identify root causes and execute high‑standard repairs. Work closely with production staff to ensure line productivity, reduce error counts, manage cycle times, and maintain quality standards. Carry out improvement work and modifications to enhance overall line efficiency, and propose and apply continuous process improvements to reduce quality DPM and customer complaints, thereby increasing machine productivity and OEE.
