Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical

Location: Syston, Leicester (Commutable from Leicester, Syston, Thurmaston, Melton Mowbray, Loughborough and surrounding areas.)

Industry: Manufacturing – Heavy Engineering/Production environment.

Hours: Monday to Friday, core hours Mon‑Thurs 8am‑5:30pm, Fri 8am‑5pm (flexibility available). Shift coverage for sickness or holidays at £25.06 per hour. Overtime: 1.5x Mon‑Fri, 2x Sundays.

Pay: £20.04 per hour (base) with potential earnings upwards of £46,000 when covering shifts.

Call out: £20 per call out, minimum 4hrs paid at overtime rates.

Holidays: 29 days including bank holidays.

Benefits: Private healthcare, salary sacrifice pension.

Overview

Work in an automated production environment with projects, installations and both planned and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, service, and repair automated plant machinery to minimise production downtime.
  • Provide technical support on projects, installations, and breakdowns.
  • Perform PPMs.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
  • Time served apprenticeship.
  • Strong maintenance background in a medium to heavy engineering environment (beneficial).
  • Any fabrication experience (beneficial).
  • Education in relevant engineering discipline – City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND, etc.
