We’re hiring a Maintenance Engineer to join AMH Material Handling’s growing team in Swindon – supporting a brand-new automated logistics system that blends cutting‑edge AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots) with traditional conveyor technology.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our customer’s automated systems operating at peak performance. You’ll be part of a small, skilled team, providing both planned and reactive maintenance across conveyors, AMRs, and automated handling systems within a fast‑paced logistics environment.

Location: Swindon (SN3)

Salary: Up to £52,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) + Overtime

Hours: 12‑hour shifts, working on a four on, four off rotation (days and nights)

What you’ll be doing:
  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding quickly to breakdowns
  • Supporting site uptime and performance against KPIs
  • Working safely to H&S standards, ensuring compliance with AMH and client policies
  • Using the CMMS system to record, plan and complete maintenance tasks
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability
  • Maintaining clear communication with the engineering and operations teams
  • Ensuring all documentation and reports are accurate and up to date
What We’re Looking For
  • Relevant qualification in engineering (e.g., NVQ, apprenticeship etc)
  • Previous experience in maintenance engineering (electrical, mechanical, or multi‑skilled)
  • Practical understanding of conveyors, motors, pneumatics, and PLC‑controlled systems
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and team‑working ability
  • Flexible to work shifts (including days/nights on a 4‑on, 4‑off rotation)
  • Committed to working safely and maintaining high standards
