Job description
Maintenance Engineer

Location: Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire
Salary: £49,904.80 + overtime (£1,000–£2,000 on average)
Hours: 42 per week, 2 days / 2 nights rotating shift pattern

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns, completing repairs within agreed timeframes.
  • Fault‑find and rectify issues across conveyors, cranes, and automated sortation systems.
  • Support re‑engineering and improvement projects, driving a culture of reliability and efficiency.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring Health & Safety standards are upheld.
  • Maintain accurate electronic work records and time sheets.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Recognised engineering qualification (electrical or mechanical).
  • Multi‑skilled background (electrical or mechanical bias considered, e.g. 70/30 split).
  • Experience working with bearings, belts, chains, and automated machinery.
  • Previous industrial, distribution, manufacturing, or forces background is highly desirable.
  • Strong fault‑finding skills with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
